• Hubbell fifth graders have been busy working the last 6 weeks on their IB Exhibition. They have been researching, interviewing, preparing a presentation, taking action on a topic, and presenting a issue that they are passionate about. They held an all school Exhibition of their projects and then a evening Exhibition for their family and friends on Thursday April 18, 2013.

4th Graders Learn About Rock Formation

4th grade had a speaker today from Polk County Conservation to kick off our next unit of inquiry.  She spoke to us about how rocks are formed and the different type of rocks that make up the Earth.

Coach Sloth

Hubbell students were treated with a visit by Iowa Author Coach Sloth.  Coach Sloth played football for the Iowa State Cyclones, The Barnstormers, coached for the Barnstormers, had roles  in several movies and has written 3 children books.
