Many schools around Des Moines now have gardens, which provide a real-life, hands-on lesson for students in botany and small-scale agriculture. It’s been more than 25 years since DMPS made comprehensive changes to elementary school attendance areas. A lot changes in a quarter of a century, and to better serve students and meet the needs of schools the district has adopted new attendance areas for many elementary schools.
